Background: Madeira wine is a still, fortified, blended wine that is wonderfully concentrated and complex. The Portuguese island of Madeira is called the Island of the Immortals in reference to its wines, which can hold-and improve- their quality over centuries. Tasting Notes: A darkish golden wine, with greenish nuances. Well developed and complex, with an intense aroma of dried fruits, namely raisins and walnuts, but also honey and vanilla. Medium sweet on the palate with complex flavors, including toffee and a touch of old wood.

Food Suggestion: Best served as a dessert wine after meals.
